Read more..So you always wanted to open up a bar or restaurant but had no idea you would need so much stuff. We at DiscountMugs can’t help you out with your furnishing or interior design but we certainly can help you find the right glassware items. Obviously the type of glassware you choose will depend largely on the establishment you decide to use them in. If you’re opening up a bar, there are standard glassware items you’ll need and more niche types of glassware you’ll want to impress your patrons. Drinking glasses range in size but the average glass should be around twelve-to-fifteen-ounces. Next you’ll want to get the always classic conical pint glasses; the standard pint is sixteen fluid ouches so be sure to get a sixteen ounce glass if you’re going to be serving it as an official “pint glass”. A pint glass can be used to serve many different types of beer but is best served with Ales and darker beers.
The next type of glass you’ll want to get for your bar is the Pilsner Glass; this glass is long and slender and ranges in size. The Pilsner glass is used to serve Pilsner beer which is a pale lager that continues to grow in popularity in the United States. Many avid beer drinkers prefer to drink Pilsner beer in a Pilsner Glass, so having them available is a good way to impress your clientele. In terms of liquor glasses, most bars have cocktail glasses and shot glasses available for customers as well. While many bars stop at several different types of glasses, other glasses that can be used to further impress your customers like beer steins, wheat beer glasses, yard glasses, beer boot glasses and stemware.
Restaurants are not that different when it comes to glassware items, but depending on the restaurant, you’ll want to focus more on the stemware and cocktail glasses than the beer and shot glasses. Stemware items vary in style but include categories like wine glasses, brandy snifters, champagne flutes and goblets. Make sure you have both white and red wine glasses as wine drinkers are particular about their glassware. Also if you’re serving brandy, be sure to have brandy snifters as they are very distinct glasses that add a high level of formality and class to your establishment. The cocktail glass also has a very distinct shape and is used to serve popular drinks like martinis, daiquiris and margaritas. Restaurants must also supply standard glassware items like drinking glasses for non-alcoholic beverages like soda, juice and water.

Martini Glasses for Restaurants and Bars
Read more..
Restaurant and bar owners?Have you considered the benefits of getting promotional martini glasses? You might not think that having the glasses with your business’ name on them would be beneficial, but in actuality it really would. Let’s take a look at some of the benefits.
The first most beneficial use for this type of glasses is for everyday use. Having custom glasses creates a special aura about your business. It says that you are organized, a thorough planner, and you set a tone for your restaurant or bar. The tone you set depends on what you have printed on the glasses. You could have your logo, business name, or both printed printed on the side. Of course, the style of the glass has to match the style of your restaurant or bar. If you want your restaurant or bar to say elegance, why don’t you try a promotional martini glass with an elaborately etched stem? If you want your establishment to say fun, try colored glasses. And if you really want to go the extra mile, you can even have your martini shakers personalized.
The second way you can use custom printed martini glasses is by first organizing a party or event at your restaurant or bar. You could have the party or event around a special holiday, such as Christmas, the Fourth of July, or Halloween. With each holiday, you could have little holiday decorations printed around your logo or name of your restaurant or bar. For example, if you are throwing a Christmas party, you could have cute red and green holly surrounding your logo or business name. For the Fourth of July, bursts of fireworks could splash from the logo. And, for Halloween, little pumpkins could encircle your logo or business name.
The most important thing to remember, though, is that with any party or event you have to make enough promotional martini glasses so that your customers can take them home as souvenirs. That means, you’ll need to have enough so that you can service the restaurant or bar and enough for each guest to take one home.
The benefit of this is that your customers will not only remember the party or event, they will remember you. They will remember you as a fun business owner who really takes the time out to care of his customers. You will be thought of as a good planner and someone who pays attention to detail. Now that says a lot about a restaurant or bar owner and will keep customers coming back.
The final thing you could do goes along the same lines as throwing a party at your business, however this idea will also help the community. Why not organize a fund raising event for your favorite charity in the community and host it at your restaurant or bar? You could still have those great promotional martini glasses with your logo or business name printed on one side. However, on the other of the glasses you could have the charity event’s name and date printed. What a wonderful way to show the community you care and you can use the expenses as a tax write off because it is for a charity.
Martini glasses are an excellent way of really promoting your business. They are fun, pretty, and everyone enjoys a good martini. Consider the above ideas as a way of getting your restaurant or bar’s name out to the world. You’ll be glad you did.

Martini Glasses
Read more..
Cheers! That’s what you’ll say when you see your brand new, personalized martini glasses. They are glasses with a cone-shaped bowl on top of a glass stem. The stem is attached to a base. They are mostly used to serve martinis, but also can be used for other cocktails, such as Cosmopolitans.
The stem allows the drinker to hold the glass without warming up the beverage. However, some of them have the bases directly attached to the cone-shaped bowl. And, some of them don’t have bases or stems at all. These are mostly used for settings where there might be a chance of breakage or theft of the regular ones.
Weddings are the perfect times to use martini glasses. An interesting idea for them is to use them as the centerpieces on the reception tables. Here’s what you do:
-
Select one style and have all of them personalized with the bride and groom’s name on them and the date of the wedding.
-
Arrange them in a triangle on each table.
-
Fill them with fresh water.
-
Place tea light candles inside floating glass holders.
-
Place the floating glass holders in the water.
-
Using rose petals that match your wedding color, place the petals in the water so that they are surrounding the floating glass holders.
-
Add more rose petals at the base of the personalized martini glasses for that extra touch.
Once the reception is over, people can take them home as wedding favors. Of course, you probably won’t have enough for everyone being that you are only putting three on each table so have extra ones made so that you can place them at each person’s seat.
Martinis are the perfect way to start a party and what better way to show that you really planned the party right than with your very own customized martini glasses. By having the theme of your party, the date, and possibly, your name on the glasses, you’ll show just how much effort you put into making your party a success. Your guests will appreciate the time you put into preparing the party for them and will have something to always remember you even after the party is over.
Restaurants and bars also love to have promotional martini glasses. With these, they can have their names printed on the side, showing a touch of class to every customer that uses them. If you are a restaurant or bar owner, having these will only show how much you care about your customers. And your customers will only be saying, ?Cheers,? with each sip they take!

A Martini for Every Occasion

What do you think of when you think about martinis? I’ll tell you what comes to mind for me-images of Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, and Richard Moore drinking martinis (shaken, not stirred, of course). I also think of all the ladies on “Sex and the City”-especially Samantha throwing a dirty martini on Richard after he cheats on her!

Martinis bring to mind elegance, sophistication, glamour, and fun. They’re classy. I even have a book on cocktails, full of different versions of martinis. And one of these days, I’m going to learn how to make one. Probably around the time I throw my first dinner party. I envision soft lighting, twinkle lights, candles, my friends milling around, and me the designated martini maker for our cocktail hour.

I’ll have a bar area, complete with personalized glassware. I’ll have a wide variety of styles of these customized martini glasses, some with funky stems, some in fun colors, some short glasses lacking stems, and some personalized martini glasses. I love the idea of everyone holding a personalized martini glass with my name or initials on it. Maybe I’d even use them as favors for the guests to take home.

Wow. Now my mind is really going crazy. Martinis could become like a trademark tradition in my family. We could be the family that has custom printed martini glasses for every big occasion. Every party, graduation, wedding, and reunion. We could have annual custom designs for the year or the occasion. Different graphics could symbolize the occasion without the need to even read the writing on the glass. At the end of every event, our friends and family would take home our personalized glasses and, over time, we’d all have a lovely and varied collection.

I suppose, though, I should start by learning more about the actual martini. What exactly is a dry martini as opposed to a vodka martini? What are the benefits of having shakers, as opposed to stirring a martini? And I think I’ll start my studies with a 007 marathon. Where’s the remote? Have a good weekend, Everyone!
