Having an Event? See why Buying your own Glassware is better!

Whenever a special event is held, one of the main necessities is some form of glassware. Champagne Glasses, Wine Glasses, Drinking Glasses, Rocks Glasses, Candle Votives- the needs are endless when it comes to events. (http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/category/personalized-glassware/ ) Many party planners, event holders, and people like yourself depend on caterers, vendors, or renting out glassware for these special events. Although renting glassware for your special event seems convenient, the pros of buying your own seem to outweigh strongly.

The most obvious reason why buying your own event glassware is price. (http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/category/personalized-glassware/ ) For those who hold numerous events a year, or event just 2-3, know the cost of having fine glassware at your event adds up. Not only do caterers and vendors overprice their glassware and charge deposits for ones broken by guests but you end up paying a ton more in the end than you would have if you just purchased the glassware yourself.

Have you ever seen the glassware vendors provide? Although high-quality glassware is offered by some, it is priced high above your average glasses. Other than that, you are left with worn out, scratched, faded, and slightly yellowish glassware that therefore affects your event in a major way. With all of the effort put into such an event, the last thing you need is your guests sipping out of old, chipped, or scratched glasses. Buy buying your own glassware sets for events, you don’t have to worry about quality. Many companies offer high-quality glassware in several ultra-chic, elegant designs, all at wholesale, wallet-friendly prices. For example, it would be cheaper to purchase 100 elegant hand-blown, colored champagne flutes for your events, than to rent 100 glasses for your 3-4 events per year. (http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/category/personalized-glassware/ )
Imagine how much more life beautiful stemware would add to your event’s reputation!

So next time you being planning your event, party, wedding, or other special evening, thing first before you sign up for a vendors glassware rental. You can just as easily have your very own set of high-quality, classy glassware at a much lower price. The best part? Your guests will never know how much you saved!

DiscountMugs’ DIY Wedding Favor Videos turn Huge Success!

sbottlewedding

When the DiscountMugs Media Team launched their Wedding Favor Campaign, they never assumed it would lead to big opportunities in the Bridal Community. However, they we’re proven wrong quickly as response to the videos grew considerably in just the first few months. With a do-it-yourself attitude and their low price products, DiscountMugs put together 13 videos which displayed step-by-step instructions on how to decorate your own Wedding Favors. With just a few cheap materials that can be found at any local craft store, and some of their affordable wedding favor items (like colored shot glasses and champagne flutes), they brought simple and cute ideas to the table to help all of the newly engaged couples make their wedding day a little bit more unique, without all of the hassle.

Uploaded about 4 months ago, the DiscountMugs Wedding Favor Idea Campaign has received nearly 40,000 views, and several reviews ranting about the beautiful and simple designs the brides could actually use themselves. “When we started shooting these videos, we did not want it to be a huge advertising opportunity, but a helpful service for all of our wedding clients. We want to make their lives easier, and these simple decorations can spice up their wedding for less than a dollar each” says Julie O’Neal, Spokesmodel.

After seeing the success of their Wedding Favor DIY Videos, the Media Team has also started a blog, design specifically to help Brides with Wedding Favor Ideas. (http://discountmugsweddingfavors.blogspot.com/ ) “After the recession hit, we realized that Brides are looking for ways to get the glam of a big wedding, at a lower price that fits their budget. So we came out with easy ways to decorate wedding favors to try to take the stress out of wedding planning.” Ray Sherman, photographer/videographer, explains. After studying the approach to their Wedding Favor Video Campaign, it seems that DiscountMugs did not only set out to advertise their products, but to really help the Bridal Community. Champagne Flutes For Any Wedding Season

Summer is almost over, no more barbecues, no more trips to the beach or tanning by the pool.  That doesn’t mean that you can’t get married!  Who said wedding season is just for summer?  Actually, it’s a better idea to plan your wedding in the fall season because it’s cheaper, less competitive, and a less chance of rain.  The fall seasons add a beautiful backdrop to a classy and elegant wedding.  In addition, champagne glasses also bring a beautiful touch of class as a memorable wedding favor.

With every wedding, you need to have wedding favors. Why not consider giving away personalized champagne flutes? Champagne flutes come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from twisted stem champagne flutes, to tulip champagne flutes.  There are so styles we provide in our promotional products inventory, you just have to log on to DiscountMugs.com to check them out. Some champagne flutes even have color in the stems. The colors can be pink, purple, yellow, blue, red, or black, whatever you desire.
Personalized champagne flutes are the perfect gift to your guest at any wedding. The bride and groom can get their names printed or engraved on the champagne flutes for that extra personal touch. Plus, champagne flutes add a bit of sophistication to any wedding.
Raising your hand to toast the bride and groom with an exquisite champagne flute is a great way to start the new couple off with happiness. Using the champagne flute as a wedding favor shows personality and finery in your new marriage. Guests can keep their champagne flutes as a remembrance of your special day.

First of all, champagne flutes reduce the surface area of the wine, thus limiting the champagne’s contact with the air and potential loss of bubbles. In order to avoid warming the champagne, hold the champagne flute by its stem. When pouring champagne into champagne flutes, try to fill the champagne flute halfway so that the bubbles don’t overflow. Pour the champagne down the side of the champagne flute, giving the champagne bottle a little twist at the end of the pour too avoid a big, frothy head.
Champagne flutes are the perfect wedding favor gift. Without champagne flutes, you wouldn’t be able to toast each other on your happiness and marriage. The toast of the champagne flute is, to no small degree, the beginning of the rest of your lives together.
Commit to memory that special day with your very own personalized champagne flutes? You can use the champagne flutes as keepsakes or even use them for when you throw a party.

No matter what you choose to do with your champagne flutes after the wedding reception, your personalized champagne flutes will give your wedding the elegance you are trying to portray. Your guests will remember your special day for many years to come every time they look at your keepsake champagne flutes.

http://www.cascadeseventscenter.com/files/79/wedding%20toast.jpg

Have no fear at DiscountMugs.com we have the best tips for all your promotional products need especially wedding favors for your big day.  Here are some basic tips about champagne and wine selection that you’ll need to know to get the perfect taste on your wedding day.

1. Your best choice is start with a Champagne or wine that you and your soon be spouses enjoy or one that is loved by your family and friends.   Maybe it’s a drink your parents drank at their wedding or something you shared with your significant other on a date.

2. If you aren’t an avid wine connoisseur and don’t know of any then browse the web.  There are so many websites that give helpful tips, we are sure you will find one to your liking.

3.  Ask your caterer.  Your caterer will most likely have recommendations for you.  They will help you figure out how much wine you’ll need for the amount of people you’re having.

SIDE NOTE
: At most weddings, approximately 30-50% will drink white wine (mostly Chardonnay), 30-50% will drink red wine (mostly cabernet), and about 10 to 20% will drink white zinfandel.

4. Consider you’re your guests.    According to certain statistics around the web, more women typically prefer white wine while men mean prefer red wine.

5. Think about the foods you will be serving.  Consider what champagne and wines compliment the food you are serving your guests.

SIDE NOTE:  Sauvignon Blanc goes with a wide variety of seafood entrees, as well as poultry and cheeses, and is the best option for pasta with a cream sauce. Chardonnay is a widely popular white wine that works well with chicken, pork and many seafood dishes.  Merlot and Cabernet are the most popular options and both suit a menu that includes beef or pastas with red sauces. Another crowd pleaser is Beaujolais, a light fruity red.

6. And but certainly not least you’ll have to have Champagne for toasting!

SIDE NOTE
: This will be the most expensive part of your drink budget.  It’s important to only have champagne to serve for toasting. A good start is to only plan 2 glasses of Champagne for each guest.

Hopefully our blog have been helpful in choosing the best Champagne and Wine for your ceremony.  Additionally, at DiscountMugs.com we have the best selection of customizable champagne glasses and wine glasses that will impress your guest.

President Barack Obama Commemorative Plates

We made history in 2008 with the election of the first African American President of the United States of America.  His name is President Barack Obama and his mission is to make changes that benefit all races and people.  It was thought as an impossible feat because of his race but his intelligence and charisma changed the minds of many doubters.  Americans realized that we needed a President that makes decision for the people and not for his own political agenda.

President Barack Obama Commemorative Plates

On February 10, 2007, then Senator Barack Obama announced his candidacy for President of the United States at Old State Capitol building in Springfield, Illinois. The decision to make the announcement at that location was observed as symbolic because it was also the place where Abraham Lincoln delivered his historic and iconic “House Divided” speech in 1858. Throughout his campaign, Obama emphasized the concern of rapidly ending the Iraq War, increasing energy independence and providing universal health care.
After defeating Hilary Clinton for the Democratic Party Presidential nominee, Obama delivered his acceptance speech to over 75,000 supporters and presented his policy goals. The speech was viewed by over 38 million people worldwide. Obama then focused his attention on the general election campaign against Senator John McCain, the probable Republican nominee.
During his endless campaigning for office, Obama’s campaign set numerous fund-raising records, predominantly made up of small donations.  Furthermore, Obama became the first major-party presidential candidate to turn down public financing.

On November 4, 2008 Senator Barack Obama won the presidency of the United States by winning 365 electoral votes to 173 that Senator John McCain received.  Additionally, he won 52.9% of the popular vote to McCain’s 45.7%.  Obama delivered his victory speech before hundreds of thousands of dedicated supporters in Chicago’s Grant Park.
Many thought it was impossible because of ingrained racism in the American society.  But America’s need for a change in our economic downward spiral overshadowed something as silly as “race”.  President Barack Obama since his inauguration has made good on the promises such as ending the Iraq War and implementing a universal health care system.

At DiscountMugs.com we have a great inventory of President Barack Obama’s commemorative items.  Some include commemorative plates, wine glasses, champagne flutes, coffee mugs, and even mouse pads.  They also serve as great promotional products at an event in support of the President.

Whatever you need to commemorate President Barack Obama, we have it at DiscountMugs.com because We Make It Your Own!

Champagne Wedding Toast!

Are you a Maid of Honor stressing over what to say at your friend or families wedding?  Or are you a Best Man who has a fear of public speaking? Weddings can be stressful, participating in a wedding can be even more stressful.   But nothing is more stressful than your turn to give the Champagne Wedding Toast.  You want yours to standout, be memorable, and of course funny.  Unfortunately it is said that people fear public speaking over anything else!
That is  MIND BOGGLING if you think about it,   people fear public speaking over things like death and disease.  At weddings, champagne toast is used to give regards and best wishes to newlyweds at their wedding. If you’re the Maid of Honor or the Best Man and planning to attend the wedding of a family member or friend, then you probably have to give a champagne toast at the wedding. At DiscountMugs.com we understand that public speaking isn’t that easy, that’s why we put together a few tips to assist you in so you can give a special champagne toast at any wedding!

  1. Wait for the appropriate time to give a champagne toast.  A must follow rule is that all guests should be served their champagne before the wedding toasts begin. (DUH!)
  2. In general, the order of pouring the wedding toasting beverage is: the bride, the groom, the maid or matron of honor; and the other guests at the head table, with the best man receiving his drink last. The best man then gives the first champagne toast, followed by the fathers of the bride and groom, the groom, and so on.
  3. When its your turn to give your toast just remember to relax.  The guest are there to have a good time, so don’t be nervous. Be confident, witty and smile.  Take this moment to bask in the limelight as you give your champagne toast.
  4. This is one is a no brainer but you will be suprised that most people forget to satnd!  Don’t forget: ALWAYS stand while giving a champagne wedding toast.
  5. It is always worth your time to prepare a small speech ahead of time.  Preparing to give a speech is the best thing because you might not follow it excatly and ad libbing is expected but at least you will have a general outline to follow.  AND remember keep it short, sweet, and memorable.
  6. Speaking of keeping it short and sweet, think about the bride and groom. Think about the things you would want to include in your speech.  What are some of the things about the bride and groom that is humorous but positive and universal appealing to your audience. Rem  When preparing for a champagne wedding toast, stick to the positives, make a list of nostalgic anecdotes that describe the connection that brought the bride and groom togethe.   TIP: A good place to start off your speech is to discuss topics like where you met the couple and how have you seen them grow together. great memories to inspire your audience and possibly induce some tears of joy.
  7. Make sure that the day belongs to the bride and groom.  Don’t make your speech dragged out and self praising.  Its about the newly weds, its their day to shine so always keep the attention on them. If you want to draw attention for yourself, make sure that you draw good attention to yourself by giving an appropriate speech funneling all that attention back to the bride and groom.
  8. Now you drink to what you’re toasting too!  Smile and enjoy the rest of the ceremony.

Champagne History

http://www.epicurious.com/images/articlesguides/drinking/wine/champagne_main.jpg

There is more to champagne than bubbles and a good time.  Champagne’s history spans over multiple lifetimes.  Dating back to the Middle Ages, the Romans where the first to plant vineyards in Champagne, France.  It is said that champagne can be dated back to medieval times.

French kings served champagne at coronation festivals.  Churches owned vineyards and the crop was cultivated by monks.  A popular misconception is that sparkling wine was invented by the renowned champagne brand Dom Perignon.  So is not the case.

Sparkling wine was first introduced by Benedictine Monks.  This was almost 50 years before Dom Perignon popularized champagne in 1668.  Even though Dom Perignon didn’t invent champagne his contribution was necessary and vital to the success of this special wine.  A significant contribution made by Dom was the muselet.  This allowed for champagne to withhold on the fermentation process when bottled.

The muselet also kept the champagne cork in place securely.  Humorously enough,  champagne was invented accidentally.  Bottles would explode accidentally because of the fermentation process.  The wine was bottled before the fermentation process and they would burst out so much that it was coined the devils wine by the monks.

Currently the use of the word champagne is protected heavily.  Treaties signed by the European Union and other countries such as Canada, Australia, and Chile protect the rights of the word champagne.  The word champagne can only be used by wines produced in the Champagne district of France.

The United States acknowledges the limited use of the word and has banned it from similar products produced in the United States.  Only certain wine producers in the U.S are allowed to use the term champagne only if they accompany a description of the origin of the word.

Side note:  Did you know that studies show that moderate consumption of champagne aids in the recovery from Alzheimer’s, strokes, and Parkinson’s disease?
